Einstein’s theory of general relativity 6 states that matter warps time and space, creating what we call gravity – and black holes are incredibly dense conglomerations of matter, hence their incredible gravitational pull. Not only do black holes explain the seemingly chaotic movements of some stars and help make sense of our galaxy, but they represent a new realm of physics for scientists. It is thought that these are the black holes that merge to form the supermassive variety. They’re still a bit of a mystery, with only a few having been discovered, but they’re each believed to have a mass of between 100 and 100,000 Suns. 4 Intermediate-mass black holes are a third category that – as the name suggests – falls somewhere between the previous two. It is thought that this type of black hole reaches its enormous size by merging with other black holes, as well as by subsuming stars.

3 The largest, known as supermassive black holes, can have masses that are millions if not billions of times the mass of the Sun. They form after the centre of a large star collapses, causing a supernova (the explosion of a star).

Stellar-mass black holes are the smallest between 1 and 100 times the mass of the Sun. Astronomers believe that most spiral and elliptical galaxies have black holes at their centres. 1īlack holes are objects with extreme density, and the amount of mass they have means they have so much gravitational pull that even light gets trapped. If the core's mass is more than about three times the mass of the Sun, the force of gravity overwhelms all the other forces, the remnant collapses and produces a black hole. Other members of Moondreamers were Andreas’s brother, Rune Holm (known as "Titanstar") and Egil Hasting ("HiGen"), who will both release unpublished material on Unreleased Goa Records in the near future.Black holes are forged from the small, dense, remnant cores of dead stars. As part of a demo group called "Moondreamers", he created music for the compositions, some demos and a few fast intros, and participated in the 20 editions of "The Gathering" competition held at Vikingskipet, Hamar, Norway. Naturally, a great amount of underground tracker music also influenced the Unier sound, as Andreas was deeply into the demo-scene. Fans of a softer approach of melodic Goa Trance transcended by spiritual pads will probably find his style reminiscent also of projects such as Ethereal, Ypsilon 5 or Dimension 5. The artist took the trouble to produce them using old tracker techniques with Renoise along with Ableton Live.Īstral Projection, Infected Mushroom, Man With No Name and Hallucinogen count among the classical influences of the Unier sound. The album includes also the recently produced "Sailors Of The Mind" and "Colonizing The Unknown", two brilliant pieces faithful to the style and spirit of Unier's early work. The only exception is "Extendable", enhanced with the aid of modern technology, as it did not survive as a true wave file.

They are all now released, for the first time, in full audio quality. This track (and others featured on this album) was once available on the popular MP3.com platform. "Inscrutable Mechanics", a blend of 808 drums with Goa elements, is Andreas’s first psytrance creation and a personal milestone. It compiles 10 amazing tracks, most of them produced between 19. The album "Falling Into A Black Hole" metaphorically signifies what has been the red thread of Andreas’s musical explorations and immersion into science-fiction. The project name "Unier" (short for "Unifier") embodies Andreas's creative approach: inspired by the universe and all related questions and unknown elements it brings to our life, he combines various trance elements to form his own style. Andreas developed his own definition of Goa Trance based on melodic and science-fiction elements, creating complex themes with diverse harmonic synthesizers.

Under the guidance of his brother Rune, he learned how to experiment with this software before switching to Sonar and Cubase. He bought a Yamaha CS2x, a Novation Supernova and an Alesis Ion, sampled instruments and used them in Impulse Tracker. Andreas Lillebø Holm produced his first Goa Trance tracks in 1998. Unreleased Goa Records is very proud to introduce "Unier", a talented Goa Trance project from Norway, and his magnificent Psy-Fi album "Falling Into A Black Hole".
